Reliance jio

PROS:

HD Calls: All calls made from Jio network is made by VoIP which is less prone to call drops and deliver crystal clear voice.

LTE Only network: Since Jio works only on 4G and does not have 3G or 2G network, the device doesn’t need to switch between bands and hence resulting in less battery drain. Having 4G only network has another benifit that all their towers will provide the same network and they will require less towers to provide network coverage unlike other operators which have to provide 2G towers, 3G towers & 4G towers at every single place.

Jio GigaFibre/JioFibre: Launch of this service is not yet announced but Jio is working on a fibreline network which will provide FTTH services to commercial & residential customers. Jio has planted their fibre across vast areas of India and planning to cover all over Indian region by 2018. This broadband will surely provide more data transfer speeds compared to the current FTTH ISP as they have their own single fibreline and are not dependant on any other ISP.

CONS:

Network Coverage: Jio promises to cover 90% of the region of India. Although it says it has already covered 70% of region and yet there are very less complaints reguarding the network covverage. This might not be a con though.

Call Failures: Jio has been blaming the incumbent operators about not providing adequate amount of Points of interconnection which results in millions of call faliures daily to the telecom giant Airtel & Vodafone. Although this is not the case with other operators as there are almost no call failures to the remaining operators.

Handset compatibility: Almost 90% of handsets sold in Indian market in 2015 are 4G enabled with LTE Band 40( 2300 MHz) which is used by Jio but to use their VoLTE( Voice Calls) you need to have Band 3( 1800) and Band 5( 850) which is quite rare. There is an alternative way to make calls with Band 40 ( which is using the Jio4GVoice App) but that is not the perfect solution as the app is not convinient to use.
