The amazingly fastfree internet provided by the jio has clearly digitalised India. The fastest growing network has 50 million users and offers free calling, free sms, free internet until 31st march.Jio owns spectrum in 800 MHz and 1, 800 MHz bands in 10 and 6 circles, respectively, of the total 22 circles in the country, and also owns pan-India licensed 2, 300 MHz spectrum. The spectrum is valid till 2035. Here are some states which don’t has 1800 mhz frequency bands - Bihar & Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh(West). At first in the month of july reliance jio was offering free sims only for new samsung volte smartphones and iphone.Then more phones were added xolo, lava, micromax, xiaomi etc.By that time a simple hack was discovered by an amazing person.The app would generate legit barcodes by the hack.Jio got aware of this loop hole and stopped accepting only screenshots printed on sheets and asked for the smartphone which was supported.Some people somehow got the sims at that time aswell. After that from 5 september onwards(Welcome Offer) all 4G phone owners could get the sim for free.A download limit of 4gb/day was set. Then came the new year offer from 31st december the limit was reduced to 1 gb.
Talking about the network- At times the person calling me couldn’t make a proper phone call. After 5-6 attempts the ring could be heard. The network coverage is just fine. At start- july the speeds that I could get were 25-50mbps. Many people complain that they did not get above 8mbps.After the welcome offer the speeds for me started to fluctuate and would stay around 8mbps. End of november and I was at 700kbps. Disappointed but FREE is FREE.
