JIOFI is Perfect.

Perfect... !!

I didnt want to invest in a handset to use the 4G network.

Very easy to use. All u need is an activated Jio SIM & u r on..

Easy access to SSID & Password. Just read the handy quick reference manual once before you start anything & its a cakewalk.

Change password through ur PC and be safe.

Jiofi 3 - also known as Jiofi (The one in cylindrical packaging).Matt finish , rectangular shape with Power button on the side.

Jiofi 2 - Now also known as Jiofi (confusing, i know) Rectangular packaging. Curvy body , Glossy finish with power button in the lower-middle at Front.

Similarities:

  • No of Devices supported -

Recommended 10 (Wi-Fi) + 1 (USB tethering)

Maximum : 31 (wi-fi) + 1 (USB tethering)

  • Both support voice calling through Jio4Gvoice app.

  • Both support micro SD cards up to 32 GB capacity.

  • Both come with Happy New Year offer till March 31st.

  • 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n (No support for % GHz either)

  • Same 4G LTE Bands (850 / 1800 / 2300 MHz)

Differences:

  • Battery (Fi3 : 2600mAH , Fi2:2300mAh)

  • RAM (Fi3: 512 MB , Fi2 : 2 GB)

  • ROM (Fi3:1GB NAND, Fi2:4 GB NAND)

  • Dimensions(mm) (L x W x H) Fi3:96.6 x 65.2 x 15.2 , Fi2: 85.0 x 55.0 x 16.0

  • Display (Fi3: Colored OLED , Fi2: Monochrome)

My suggestion is that you should not sweat which one (jiofi3 vs jiofi2) you should get. Reliance stopped selling Fi3 (the one in cylindrical box) for some reason on jio website and reliance stores. It is only selling the glossy one currently in both stores and on website. From my experience, Fi3 provided slightly better coverage whereas Fi2 provided slightly better battery (compared with only 3 devices - 2 phones and 1 laptop over wifi only).

For those getting low speeds or planning to buy , remember the following bands in the coverage you are getting:

Better speed: 2300Mhz (Band 40) > 1800Mhz (Band 3) > 850Mhz (Band 5)

Better coverage: 850Mhz > 1800Mhz > 2300 Mhz

This device has been great so far for data while roaming.

Removed a star as this device is locked to worked with Jio sim only.
