Today I am going to talk about jio phone. I booked this phone for 500 rupees, and then waited almost 2 and half months to get my phone. I had a lot of expectation with jio phone considering the promotions and marketing done by jio, I thought it will be the best feature phone. Well, this is not a hard core review about the jio phone. I am going to share my experiences with jio phone.
First of all, a phone 512 mb ram should not lagg so much which jio did. The screen is very small to even to watch photos and jio said, you can watch videos on it. It is very laggy in terms of applications like video browsing, there isn’t anything like smooth operations. If you have a lot of contacts in your joiphone, it takes a lot of time to retrieve the details.
No support for whatsapp, atleast they should have given support to whatsapp, it is really more than a basic phone, than being a smart feature phone. With touch to speak, whatsapp could have been easily operated on it.
Having an option to connect to WIFI network, but not having the option for wifi hotspots, which means you cannnot share your own network with your peers.
Very basic kai OS, does not stand upto the mark anywhere near the very smart android phones which are easily available for low price of 2500 rupees also.
The only good thing about this phone, is free calling, otherwise, this phone is not for using internet because how will you type when you want to search for something, touch to speak, need some silent environment, it is not useful everywhere.
One of the worst thing is that, power or end call key is used as back button, so it really annoys someone who has used the actual back key as key to move back, and not powerkey.
Although, 4gb memory is inbuilt is given, but only 512 mb of ram, really demolishes the image of jiophone.
You can sync your google contacts, once synced you cannot unsynced the contacts from jio phone, which is a problem, you need to reset your device to get back to normal contact list.
The good thing is that there is 2 mp rear and vga front camera and the battery back up is very good with 2000Mah battery.
You cannot use any other 4g sim with the jio phone, because it is locked for other operators. The 153 recharge has to done monthly over a period of 3 years, to get your cashback of rupees 1500. it means you pay 1500+ 5508(3years recharge cost)= 7008 and you will get 1500 rupees after 3 years.
I would not recommend this jio phone.
