This is a general review submitted by one of the persons who is about to explain you how Reliance mobile is better to all other mobile service available currently(March’03) in India.
For this i’ve taken the second cheapest mobile service in India for comparison which is obviously
BSNL.
There are 2 types of mobile users
1.Light User
2.Heavy User
Light User

A Light user is one who uses his mobile mostly for Incoming(IG) calls and sometimes makes Outgoing(OG) calls here as an example we take the user receieves unlimited calls and makes
OG calls of 10 mins daily which accounts for 300 mins a month and if the user chooses any one case what will be the cost incurred
Case 1(Reliance):
If the light user goes for reliance it will cost him/her a fixed amount of ’’Rs.600’’ a month which includes free sms, voice mail and also Java enabled technology(CDMA) which gives a very high Bandwidth.
case 2(BSNL):
Here if the user goes for the 325 plan(post paid plan)
He/she pays
Monthly rent = 325
DOT/BSNL charge for OG calls(300 mins) = 120
Airtime(OG calls only @ re.1/min) = 300

Total amount =Rs.745
This proves that Reliance mobile is 145 rupees cheaper than its competitor
Reliance also provides concessional rates on STD calls which is even cheaper than the latest rates announced by BSNL
Heavy User

A Heavy user is one who makes Outgoing(OG) calls of more than 1000 mins. a month
Case 1(Reliance):
If the heavy user chooses reliance it will cost him around
Monthly fixed charge = 600
(which includes free 400 min OG calls)
Extra charge for OG calls made(600 mins) = 240
(charged @ 40 paise/min)

Case 2(BSNL):
If the heavy user selects BSNL he/she’ll be charged as follows
PLAN 325 600

Airtime for 1000 mins 1000(@re.1/min) 500(@re0.5/min)
DOT/BSNL charges(approx.) 400 400

Total amount 1725 1500

So, again Reliance proves to be cheaper than its competitor (BSNL) and also the technology matters
So, my advice is that
1.Please don’t spread rumours about Reliance which is an emerging Indian co. and it has also invested heavily nearly 25000 crores in telecommunication sector
2.If you do not want to buy Reliance don’t buy it but don’t force others not to buy it because
he has invested so much expecting so much from we Indians
3.It is better to support our Indian co. rather than supporting foreign co’s I don’t want to specify the names here
Anyway you take Reliance proves to be the cheapest and best in the current mobile market in India.
