My name is Daksha Shah and I have been using Reliance CDMA number since many years because of its good network and service, but Reliance GSM is the worst and they dont know how to do number portability.
I needed to change my number to Reliance GSM because I wanted to change my handset to a SmartPhone with dual network, which is extremely expensive if one network of the two is Reliance CDMA. Hardly any options that can fit in a common mans budget and the options that they do offer are in silly cheap brands.
As told to me by Reliance Web World, Vikas Paradise, Mulund (w) I submitted copies of my UID card as address proof and ID proof, along with a photo and filled the form on 13 July 2013 with 100 Rs charge for new sim with same number.
I was told that after 4-5 days, u will receive a message and u can activate the sim by calling on 59059.I received that message on 18th July 2013, then I called on that number and my verification was done by confirming my name and address and I was told that my number will activate in 1 hour.
I waited for one hour, 2 hours, 24 hours and my number is still out of service. My incoming is stopped, my outgoing hasnt started. Whenever I dial any number, it goes to the verification desk and my verification has been done 25 times.
Each customer care guy says the same thing, wait for an hour and your number will activate. From where these illiterate guys are hired. They keep telling me to call on 198, *225, *222, *333, *367 etc .Despite doing all this my number hasnt yet been activated.
They treat us like shuttle cork, Customer care tells to visit Reliance Web World and Web World says all done from our side, contact Customer Care.
I even mailed to customercare@relianceada.com and I received a reply from Sudhakar S that "Your service is in active state".
I was also told by customer care senior guy Ashish that you need to tell verification desk personnel that this was your reliance CDMA number, for which you have applied to be ported to Reliance GSM.I did that also, yet no solution.
Today again I called Customer Care and requested him that please co-ordinate internally with Reliance Web World Mulund as to what is the issue...and his answer is a one in a million : We dont have any contact with Reliance Web World. I told him I will provide you with the number, so he says you follow up with them.
Its 23rd July 2013 and my number is out of service for no fault of mine, except one that I decided to port my number to same service provider which I highly regret.
Today is the last day of my wait, as I am going to throw away this sim if it doesnt get activated and move to another service provider because Reliance is not worth the trouble I have gone through, Rajeev_Vermacially after being a loyal customer of atleast 7 years.
Advice to people: Never do MNP from Reliance CDMA to Reliance GSM. Better to change your service provider rather than go through this torture.

Daksha Shah
