Dear All,
Its been a long time, I have written any reviews, but today I am compelled to write a review on the product (RIM Prepaid) i have been using for a long time ( 1.5 yrs) . Let me first give some basic background.
Mob No. : 9325051213
Taken On : Feb, 2005
Location : Pune, Maharastra, India
Now the story of CHEAT (Robbery) by RIM begins
I have then shifted to Mumbai on April-06. Before shifting, I called up customer care (*333) to know about the changes I need to make to my prepaid service. But the customer care informed that since now Mumbai is also included in Maharastra circle, I dont need to do anything.
From that day I have been using my Prepaid Mobile in Mumbai. I became busy in work and personal things. I never happened to check my balance. On 19-Sep-2006, I found that my calls were getting wrongly debited (Roaming Rates). That is, whenever I make a call to STD Number, Rs.3/- we debited from my account. From then on, I have continuously complained them about it and till date 17 complaints have been sent. (to all the below mentioned mail-ids)
neeraj.bist@relianceada.com - Nodal Officer
sudha.vutukuru@relianceada.com - Nodal Officer
serviceassurancecell@relianceada.com
customercare@relianceada.com
corporatecentre.customercare@relianceada.com
Chairmans.Office.Customer-Care@relianceada.com
They replied back saying, that this is a Technical Fault in Reliance Systems. They just credit the wrongly debited amount everytime I made a complain. That is a bad solution, because this involves that every call I make, I need to send a complaint. That is just not a monetory Loss, but also a Mental Stress.
For calls made from 01-APR-06 to 19-Sep-06 :: No Refund is yet made
For calls made from 19-Sep-06 to 31-Oct-06 :: Only disputed amount is getting refunded (that too if I send a complaint)
I have asked them to come up with a permanent solution. Its already been more than one month, but they are not ready to make the customer happy, they are giving solution, which are not cost effective to customer. They are just trying to save their money. Which should not be the case, since the mistake is theirs.
Solutions they have given
Soln#1: They do a Weekly credit of the disputed amount.
Problem in Sol#1: This involves me keeping a track of my prepaid balance on a weekly basis. Also, if some week, they forget to credit then I am at loss.
Soln#2: I buy a (TopUp) STD calling card and make calls
Problem in Sol#2: This involves me spending extra money on the TopUp card apart from the normal recharge. Also, I need to bear the Service Tax on this. They dont understand that technical problem is a companys problem and customer should not bear any cost for the solution.
Soln#3: I get my Service Area changed , which implied my Contact No. gets changed to a mumbai number. The Service Area change charge (Rs.200) will be borne by Reliance
Problem in Sol#3: This involves me spending money to call up all my friends and tell them that my number has changed. This will atleast cost me Rs.500-1000/- . Again they dont understand that technical problem is a companys problem and customer should not bear any cost for the solution.
I was totally unsatisfied with the problem and the solutions given and hence I wrote a mail to anil.ambani@relianceada.com . But, to my amazement, there was no good response. Now, if a companys CEO is so irresponsible and doesnt want his customer happy, how can I expect a customer care person to show any care.
Conclusion: Anyone, who have taken RIM Prepaid in Maharastra & Goa, and is currently in Mumbai. For all outgoing calls, you will be charged (Roaming Rates). Its a clear cut robbery of Relaince to increase their NET Profits, but in a very unethical way. Do start complaining to the E-Mail IDs given and also do provide me with E-Mail IDs of TRAI or Govt. where I can complain about such open robbery.
