I had a postpaid connection, 9342679399. On 11th July, 2003 I requested for cancellation of the mobile connection as I desired to switch to GSM from CDMA. I did the request from Reliance Web World, Koramangala Forum, Bangalore. They took the request and told me that within 7 days it will be processed. I immediately paid the bills till 11th July.
I switched to other number and didn’t notice any communication from Reliance thereafter. Suddenly after two months, I noticed that Reliance has sent their post paid bills for those two months. I got strange and called the help desk. Unfortunately, in these two months, due to hectic shifting of my house, I lost the cancellation document proof that I received from Reliance. I requested them to check it. Help Desk told me that, they received the cancellation request, but the request was not accepted. So I will get the bills and I would have to pay the post paid bills. Just imagine, what kind of scoundrel logic this is. I emphasized that I want to cancel it immediately. So, they asked me to reach out to the same Web World at Koramangala Forum, Bangalore.
On October 2013, one Saturday I went to Koramangala Forum and explained the full story to the Web World people. They searched their database and ensured me that my postpaid connection is cancelled and I don’t need to worry about the bills. I requested them for a document so that I can send it to the help desk and get rid of this harassment. They were very adamant and didn’t give any document to me, but verbally they were constantly ensuring me that, "no worries, you’ll not get any more bills. There was a back end problem, it will be fixed." I had no other option, but I took the cancellation request no from them and came back home.
From November last week I started getting legal notices from the Legal department of Reliance stating that I have to pay the bills of two months(Rs 2360), otherwise they will take legal steps etc etc. I again sent an email to them stating what happened with the cancellation request no. The lawyer ignored it and again sent the legal notice.
I have to rush to the Reliance Web World again. I don’t know, how and when I will get the relief from this harassment from the big scoundrels of Reliance Communication.
I advice all the users to stay away from Reliance service forever.
