I live in Hyderabad and always try to be on par with the technology that this country has to offer. Last year, Tata came out with CDMA technology, cheaper than GSM and much clearer with less radiation. Bought it. It worked well, but there was breakup in the quality of voice and signals. And as I am a city person, the CDMA worked well. This was my first mobile that I had for a little over a year. Earlier I had switched handsets with a rate of two for every 3 months. I was trying to adjust with different brands, you can say.
Next, came Reliance , I sold the Mobitel and went ahead with this new technology. Providing features like internet, round the clock World news and sporting news, is just amazing. Did any other provider give all these features, yes they did, but only if you ping them, they send a reply with these details. Reliance came out with a dedicated server, that you can connect to anytime and avail these features. This is something cool and worth looking into.
Right now, my phone is nothing but a dumb device for people to look at. No incoming from Tata lines or any other Cell or land operators and outgoing limited to very few phone numbers (not inclusive of Tata) and helpdesk. Customer Service outs you on hold for 10-15 minutes and then they cant help out cause they don’t know anything. Obviously, just one helpdesk for the whole nation would land up in this situation. Maybe, if helpdesk grows to other cities, service can be much faster. Everyone says, that April 1st all the servers for Reliance will be up and all phone lines will be activated by and for Reliance. We all know, April 1st is April Fools Day, so could this be...... Let’s wait and see, hope not.... At the end, the technology Reliance brings in the hands is really unique and the call clarity and connectivity is simply superb...
