Reliance NetConnect?? and connect where?

The Reliance Netconnect. Well the name is really catchy isnt it? An internet connection on the go. It is quite a relief to the person who is always on the go with his/her notebook. Well this is exactly what I thought when I picked up this device when I got my very first thinkpad from my company.

Well initially, for the first 2 months life was good. I got good speeds and I was extremely happy with what I got. I have been with reliance and unlike the first 2 months, life wasn’t that easy ever since. And here’s why.

# 1 BILLING

You are never given a copy of your bill on time and since you dont receive it, you end up getting a bill later with late payment charges. So what exactly does reliance think? The customer doesn’t have the right to see the bill? Then eventually you will have to ring up the customer service, blast the ever loving crap out of his/her ears to get a refund the next month and the same thing happens. AGAIN!

# 2 SPEED

Well let me be honest here, it is quite a mixed bag. It is sometimes fast and sometimes slow and sometimes it becomes so slow that your computer has moved on so much, it wouldn’t even understand there is a dongle stuck up its back side trying to grab a wireless internet connection aired from the planet Pluto. It is sometimes "sleep inducing" slow. Right now, this is the very reason that made me write this review at 1:00AM. This is how I did it. I typed whatever I wanted on a notepad, sent it to my phone and uploaded it with my GPRS which is way faster that this stupid rip off. Sometimes it really makes me so angry I feel like pulling out the dongle and flush it down the toilet.

# 3 CUSTOMER SERVICE

This is like an icing on the cake. So far I have opened more than 18 service requests with reliance in 1 year complaining that my internet connection sucks and I need assistance. Here is what happens. You call up the customer service and the guy creates a service request and "ESCALATES" to the technical team. You get an SMS that the service request has been opened and on the next day you get another SMS that says it has been closed say YES if you are satisfied and NO if your are not. The just close it and take you for a ride.

I remember many of my friends now. They all told me not to do any sort of business with reliance as they all had their share of issues with them. But I thought I should give them a chance and find out. Looks like I found out so much more than what I ever thought. I am so furious at reliance for their careless attitude towards their customers and the way they take them for granted.
