I have been using Reliance Netconnect Broadband+ since last one year. The modem is "Huawei EC 168C" USB-based. (white-color). The speed is very good and consistent for first 6 months. Later on I have been facing some issues on "Connection-Reliability", but manageable though.
I work from home for a US-based company. You can understand how important for me to be connected all the time and have very good speed and connection-reliability. Reliance-Netconnect fulfilled my needs perfectly.
I live in a place (in Hyderabad), where I don’t have any other Wired Internet Connections like BSNL, Airtel or any other private-cable modems also. This is my own house. When I wanted to shift from City center to this remote place, I had to look for good internet connection. I found that there is no possibility for Wired Internet-Connection.
I did extensive research on various options. I applied for Reliance WiMax connection, which offered 400 Kbps unlimited for 800/-. But unfortunately there is no coverage in my area. I struggled a lot get the advance amount back. Then I was left with two options Tata-Photon Plus and Reliance Broadband+ . I found in reviews that service & Support for both these providers pathetic. But reliance is better in both of them.
First thing, which I ensured before buying this product is that I brought the sales-guy to visit my place and asked for demo to verify whether signal-coverage is good. Luckily it is good and I went ahead & bought it. I never had any problems with speed or connection-reliability for first 6 months.
After that I started facing problems of getting disconnected even though the signal-coverage is 90%. That was very strange. When I used it for downloading I didn’t see this problem. Then I realized that if I keep the internet idle Iam getting disconnected. I did a work-around for this problem. I started running a ping of Zero bytes to google.co.in
Start -> Run > Type "cmd" -> In command-Line interface type "ping https://google.co.in -t -l 0".
Then Connection reliability problem is resolved completely.
Pros:
Very Good Speed (1.6 Mbps/ 180KBps Download-speed) and connection reliability
Cons:
high Price, but its reasonable for amazing Speed
Limited Usage of 10GB, sufficient for work though
Service is not upto the mark.
Suggestions:
If you have to use the internet on the Laptop and on the way to office this would be the best solution.
If you don’t have any wired-internet connections or looking for limited high-speed internet connection this is idle solution
Note:
Please ensure to get the sales-person to visit your place and ask them to show the demo to verify the signal-coverage. Once you buy the product without verifying the signal-coverage, you will be screwed up.
