The transfer of my Reliance netconnect account from Hyderabad to Kottayam (Kerala) was the beginning of my woes.
I had requested for the plan "Freedom"(Rs 650 monthly rental for 1 GB/ month usage), but because of the negligence from reliance Webworld, Kottayam I was being continuously billed under Freedom@night plan for three months. Obviously, I was charged a big amount because of this mess up. On complaint, they would adjusted the bill each time, instead of rectifying the mistake.
After 2 months of such adjustment, in July 2008, I paid the excess amount as well- on the assurance from the Webworld staff that this problem will be rectified and the amount would be adjusted in my next bill. Next day my netconnect instrument stopped working. The Webworld staff asked me to go to Ernakulam for repairing the same because of their “superb” expertise in the service at kottayam. I didn’t feel that I should undergo this torture by travelling almost 100 kms to get the instrument repaired and gave the cancellation request rightaway. I was given the confirmation on cancellation of the same since I had already paid excess amount in my previous bill due to the wrong plan and they were aware of their mistake.
After two months I got a call asking me to pay my two months bills. I realised that Reliance has been billing me for the disconnected connection!!!!!!!. It seems they are going to take legal action for not paying the bill for the disconnected connection!!!!
I did not know that reliance was in such a pathetic condition to bill the disconnected customers as well to generate revenue to survive.... The onus is on you to decide whether you also want to undergo this - if you have any other option….
