I am taking this opportunity to write a review on relience netconnect. This review is not biased and I shall mention the best and the worst about this product.
The Good:-
1) I got this device for 3500 /- and as the sales guy promised, it got activated the next day and verification was also done quite fast.
2) Speed was ok in my hometown Bhopal and I hoped that it will be better when I will move to Pune. The speed was indeed good and I am ok with the speed. Though they claim that the speed is 3.1 Mbps but I dont agree with that and it looks impractical too to expect such speed out of a wireless device. I have also see BSNL EVDO card, and speed is almost comparable with that.
3) Customer service is just ok when you ask them very basic questions.
4)Though its a limited usage plan but it suits my needs, so no concerns.
5) Data usage can be checked online(I will come back to this point later) and it seems accurate so no concerns either.
The Bad:-
1) No unlimited plan, you need check your usage regularly. Painful for lazy people like me.
2) Expensive as compared to BSNL EVDO,
3) Customer support behaves soooooooooooooo stupid when you ask them technical questions.
To prove this point I have a story to tell:-
Their myservices portal is full of bugs. When I tried to register to site to check my data usage, it did not allow me since I was not recieving my pin because it was going to some wrong email id updated wrongly in their system. Now I had to call atleast 3 to 4 times a day to customer care to fix this problem. And even after 10 days they could not solve my problem and worst part is that they close the complain without resolution(probably to avoid SLA miss). I was so frustated that I start abusing them with all desi slangs they are really so shameless fellows that they did not resolve my problem. Hmmm I had had enough, I went to reliacne world finally for this problem. Rworld guy was comparitively better and he escalated my problem to right person and I ateast started getting response that they are doing something for the issue. Finally, when I did not recieve my pin they asked my to share my user name and password(hmmmm security vioation), I had to share since I was fedup. After four days again I did not see any output so I finally mailed them that I still dont have pin and I cant see my usage and I dont pay for extra usage. Hmmmmm , within 15 min I got called from reliance guy and he told me my pin on phone Uffffffffffffffffffffffffffff. Pins and passwords are supposed to be confidential and thats what their popat customer care tells eveytime we call them.
Now they are themselves doing this just to fix my problem. Anyways Now I am able to see my usage and no concerns at the moment.
So final verdict is that:-
RELIANCE PEOPLE ARE KNOWN TO LAUNCH THEIR PROJECTS WITHOUT PROPER PLANNING.
REMEMBER THEIR CDMA 501 /- SCHEME THAT HAD SERIOUS FLAWS IN BILLING. NETCONNECT IS JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE. IF YOU ARE LUCKY THAT EVERYTHING WENT RIGHT FOR YOU, YOU WONT FIND ANY PROBLEM. BUT IF IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE, OR RATHER A SERIOUS ISSUE, BE READY TO SPEND A LOT OF ENERGY FOR THE RESOLUTION.
