I came to pune for a month and needed a portable internet connection which is fast and reasonable. Had heard of lot about broadband plus being like super speed on dongle. But I really thought of it as another of those claims just like fairness creams. Still I wanted to try it out. I went to reliance office in DP Road Pune. I must say documentation and service was smooth. Got a dongle for 1999 against 3500 and took a 715/- one month 1 GB prepaid scheme. Though the girl at counter was pretty lost about using the dongle but was fast on service.
By the time I reached my destination, the dongle was activated. I had absolutely no problem activating it. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the speed of it. At home in Karwar, Karnataka, I have a BSNL cable broadband connection and I can bet anything that the speed in this dongle is much faster than BSNL. Its surprising and unbelievable but its true. Perhaps since Pune is the IT city of the country and hence better connectivity but my experiences with the connection has been excellent.The best part is that since its a prepaid connection, I can stop the service after the first month and activate again when I come to pune or any other city when I m again on the move.
Only regret is tht its not in many cities as yet. Its not available in Nasik where I go next. What a pity. Since I will b there for a while, I will have to check out Tata photon plus there. Hope the service is good.
One last thing is that they have some excellent prepaid schemes. One of them is 1500/-, 6 GB, three months. That’s just 500/- incl of all for 2 GB of internet, which is more than sufficient for those not into music, movies or pondy downloading.
