Reliance NetConnect Data Card - Bullshit

Hi buddies, I was interested in a wireless internet connection, so I approached the Reliance WebWorld at Merlin Manor 32 Despran Sasmal Road Tollygunge Calcutta 700033, to know if there is any product for my need. I was told about this Reliance NetConnect Data Card which can be attached to a desktop/laptop and can be used anywhere in the country where there is Reliance Network.

I was basically interested to know about the speed of the connection thru this device. I was assured by one mr. anand jaiswal at this centre that it is faster than the BSNL broadband and the speed will be around 120-130 kbps and always above 100 kbps. I wanted to see a demo or any pc in their centre connected thru this device but I was informed that there is no provision of demonstration of this product. as I was very much interested for a wireless connection and by the assurances of the staff at the centre I finally went for the product and I had to pay rs. 3700/- for the data card itself and I had to choose a tariff plan for the internet connection which I did.

Now starts my troubles, I was informed that I should go home and run the installation cd and call the IVRS and get connected after the staff activates my account in their system. I was told the activation would be done immediately and I would be able to surf the net as soon as I install the product in my system. I had to wait for ages for this activation, it took nearly a week before I could finally make a connection, I got really frustated calling those guys who were so sweet till I made the payment, they just would not pick up their mobiles.

On repeated calls I was informed that the server was down for two days, then it was closing of the month so nobody had time for another two days but still nobody bothered to visit my place nor tried to solve my problem. then I called customer care and put a compaint, then somebody called from mumbai from whom I actually got the real facts, that this is a CDMA device, this is not a broadband connection, the speed would vary around 30-40 kbps and it depends on the number of users in my locality and finally he was sorry that I was misinformed by the people at the WebWorld.

now I am stuck with this device after paying a hefty amount of rs. 3700/-, which is of no use to me, there is no provision for returning the device also. I am the most miserable guy with internet speeds of 4kbps, 1kbps and sometimes in bps also. now I do not know what is in store for me as to whether it will work outside my home network.

I would never advise anybody to go for this product and never set foot in a Reliance WebWorld where you are sure to be duped and cheated by their sweet talk.
