Reliance WiMax sucks

Prelude:I was mighty excited to see one of the most revolutionary technologies coming to India. Another reason for the excitement was that my cousin in the USA had high regards for this. I had heard a lot from him regarding this technology. After all the excitement, the reality started sinking deep into me from the 10th day of use. Oh my gosh, what a nightmare of events thereafter. Please read on.

I applied for a Reliance WiMax connection in the month of January; they said it will take 15 days to install after the submission of all documents. The installation took 30 days instead of the 15 days after repeated calls to the customer care guys. The first warning signals should have been taken seriously. After the first 10 days, the problem started in the form of downtime, no connectivity, unable to connect, 15 mins to connect and God knows what.

Now comes the wonderful saga of experience with the customer care guys, the moment you explain the problem they will ask you to go to the command prompt and do mundane stuffs for half an hour. After a painstaking 30 mins of typing ping, ipconfig, temp etc they give up and take a complaint. “Sir, our technician will come in 2 days time to rectify the problem”; I suppose the Reliance WiMax calendar is as slow as there connection is, the technician never came. After repeated calls to the reliance cust care nothing happened for 45 days.

Fed up with the crap I was getting I asked them to disconnect the connection immediately. Here comes the much talked about Reliance hospitality services, the cust care guys talk sweet and dissuade you from disconnecting the connection. I should have learnt my lessons by now, but got carried away with all the assurances from them. Nothing happened for another month, so finally I firmly asked them to disconnect the connection. To my dismay I was told that I have an outstanding amount of Rs 3000 which needs to be paid to get it disconnected. After a lot of calls they settled for Rs 1500 for 10 days of service, I wanted to just get rid of the whole damn thing before anything worse happens and paid up the agreed amount. My fears came true as the equipment was not taken back even after 30 days of clearing the amount; they tell me that Rs 1500 is still pending. Vow what a way to be taken for a jolly ride. My patience ran out and I told them that enough is enough I will not pay a single penny more. The stalemate continued for another 3 months until I got a call from the so called recovery department of the Reliance WiMax. Since it was getting on to my nerves I explained them the whole situation to which they agreed that I will have to pay another 800 rupees and the matter will be resolved. After paying Rs 800 I thought my worries were finally over, unfortunately I get a message from Reliance stating that the bill for the month of September of Rs 1400 has been dispatched, kindly pay up for unlimited service. Ok stop laughing guys, where did the 1400 come from and I haven’t received any bill as such. Now the most hilarious part, I am getting a message from them every month end adding 500rupees to the initial Rs 1400 and asking to pay up for unlimited service.Yesterday I received a bill for the month of December, hehehahahaheheheh.

After almost 12 months of the whole mess, I am still waiting for the issue to be resolved and I don’t see that happening in the near future.

Please Stay Away.
