Reliance WI-MAX is good - Pune

My comment may be entirely opposite to the others comments in this forum. But, I would like share my experience about reliance WI-MAX.

I am staying in Pune, Kharadi near Wagholi. I was trying to take an internet connection in my place for more than a year but I could not find any provider here. I enquired the wired broadband from Tata Indicom, Hathway, Airtel, BSNL and even reliance too.

All are telling the same answer, no feasiblity in your area. My place is more than 2 KM from BSNL exchange, so they were also told no. Finally I came to know this Reliance WI-MAX,

When I thought to take this connection I searched all over the internet and Mouthshut.com too. I only found negative answers. But, I have no other option to get a braoadband in my place. So, I took a brave decision and about to waste a Rs 2000 for initial amount.

But luckily the amount has gone worth. Because after enquiring abt the WI-MAX , I got a call from Reliance very next day itself and the same day they came and collected my proofs and cheque.

But, they told that , there is no 999 plan availble for new user, we have to take 1400 plan with 600Kbps speed first then we can tranfer in to 400Kbps for 999/PM . So, I accepted and gave the cheque. I could not beleive it, next to next day they have come to my place with antenna and POE. With in half an hour they have completed their installtion and gave me a username and password.

The connection was awesome. I was so surprized. eventhough I was not trusting it fully. I thought to wait for atleast a month. Then next day I called up the customer care and informed my plan about scheme change . One guy asked my customer number and gave the request number immediately. next day when I open the reliance site it shows 400 Kbps and my plan is 999. They were giving sweet shocks day by day. Because I could not find a major difference between 600 Kbps (UL) to 400 Kbps. (UL)

That time also I got some 40 to 50+ Kbps download speed

I did not find even single net disconnection till date. I found their customer care is also awesome, because oneday I forgot the reliance broadband site to start the internet. I tried two to three URLs, but it was not working. I made a call to them, with in a sec they gave the correct URL. So, I got the conncetion immediately.

After getting the first bill, they have detucted only 1100 for the first month, and the remaining amount is in credit. It will be adjusted in my next bill.

Almost 55 days over after I got the conncetion. Still it is working perfectly.

I found three reason for this perfection ;

  1. A Reliance tower is errected at Chandan Nagar which is 3 KM disatnce from my place.

  2. Ther is no big building or obstacle between my place to that tower. I can see the tower from my balgony.

  3. Luckily my place is bit higher than the city.

  4. After this installattion, Pune has not seen any single rainy day.

So, these reasons could have helped for the great bandwidth.

As of now, I never found any difficulties in this Wi-MAX. Only thing is we have to wait for the DHCP leasing from the server. It will hardlly take 2 to 4 min after switching on the PC. We no need to do anything, dont required to try such commands like ipconfig /release or ipconfig / renew and all. Because it wiill make more time to get the ip from server. These are the experiences I got from Reliance Wi-MAX.

So, I suggest this WI-MAX to the people who got my kind of enviornment, because RELIANCE WI MAX is the only scheme giving 400 Kbps+unlimited download for RS 999/PM. Internet god, BSNL is also giving only 256 Kbps+unlimited for 750/PM, avg wise Wi-MAX is cheaper than all. I am not a normal home user, I am working as a Network Admin in a MNC, Pune. So, I hope this review will help others.

Thnks,

Dheenaa
