After struggling with Hathway cable internet and BSNL broadband, I decided to try Reliance Wi-max connection. The pain started as soon as I started looking for this connection. There channel partners/Franshises have little knowledge about other Reliance communication products. They are not even courteous. Finally we found the sales person who was ready to give us a connection.
After incessent followups, we finally came to my home, made assessment and told that it is feasible to provide the connection. I made payment of Rs. 523 cash and applied for the connection. Now is the thrilling part of the story. Technical support people called me and told me that they have to do feasibility study. I told them that the sales person has already visited home and have assessed the feasibility for which the arrogant technical support person told that he is more compitent than the sales person and hence I have to listen to him. Still, he visited my home and told me that it was not feasible to provide the connection.
I was told that I will automatically get the refund of the registration fees. But Reliance stands by the acquired punch line (Mere baap ka sapna, sab ka maal apna), they didnt refund the registration charge. After a month of wait, I again followed up with the sales person many times and finally got the refund. Guess what, they gave only Rs. 500 and Rs. 23 went to Ambanis welfare fund :). The question is not about Rs 500 or about 23, it is about Service and ethics. Well, looks like I have to change my expectation.
