My mother is widow of a decorated India Airforce officer. She recently went to Austria, armed with Religare Heath Insurance for health cover. When she reported sudden chest pain, we called up Religare that we are taking mom for emergency and would prefer a cashless transaction - please send your agent. They refused. Later when we submitted the bills they refused to clear them saying that there is no proof that we have paid the bills. The bills are clearly stamped as paid by Hospital but they are insisting that we get payment receipt from Hospital. We went there twice but the hopital made it clear that they only provide invoice and not further reciept.
We asked Religare to call the hospital to sort it out but they are not doing so. For the 3 months we have been going around from pillar to post. Its a double whammy - we paid huge premium to Religare and then we have not received a dime from them when we needed it.
