What is this life without an impossible dream! Well, a dream motivates you, it makes you focussed and it definitely makes you a better person. Watch Remember the Titans and you shall come to understand the Power of Dream in an oh-so-new way!
This movie is not another black-n-white movie where you see the two races fighting vehemently. It is a story where the common cause of Sport brought the two races together. And taught the young impressionable minds that one doesnt become better by the colour of ones skin, but by his lofty deeds.
I wouldnt divulge the details of the movie for it is meant to be seen. It is a true story. But, as a film script it didnt offer something that I had not seen or heard before. Yet, the treatment is the novel part. The lessons learnt are novel and touching.
Theres no substitute for determination. Theres no greater weapon than camaraderie, more so in a team sport like football. Or, cricket for that matter. You must try to understand the person whos on your team to understand his reactions to various situations while playing. And, in the end its all about self-belief. One can do miracles if only one has belief, coupled with the shedding of the requisite sweat.
Denzel Washington is outstanding. The rest of the cast is suitable for the roles assigned to them. I found the direction a bit patchy at times. And Remember the Titans could have been better edited for there were quite a few loose ends and superfluous sub-plots.
All in all a good movie. Dont miss it!
