I tried to send some money and I was cheated $45 for FX voucher which I never choose. The customer service is full of excuses worse than the normal red tape you may find in India. "is not like handing over the money by yourself" but they chop of your hand. Please dont be fooled by the glossy advts. This is not "the safe way to send money to India" as they claim.
I have been chasing them for the refund since 22/12/2010 nothing resolved yet, just excuses from the dysfunctional customer service. I have tried Money2india by ICIC Bank and the transaction was smooth, lower in fees and would highly recommend them. Times of India should be concentrate their efforts in selling more newspapers not banking, this is a different game not for amateurs.
