I wish I had read these reviews before selecting them to transfer money to India. This is absolutely the worst service possible. This company is a total scam. Readers please save yourself the hassle, money and frustration and go with XOOM or other service.
My experience - I decided to transfer money on Sept 4, 2013 after my bank accounts were already verified. They dollar was trading at Rs 67 to a dollar that day. After 2 days of dilly dallying, they finally decided to some thing known as KYC verification. By then the dollar had already slid to 65 rupees to a dollar. Finally they withdrew money from my bank account on Sept 6 morning. They didn’t however transfer money to my family’s account until September 12 (by when the rate had slipped to 63 rupees to a dollar) - far longer than their promised 3-4 business days. I suspect this scam company tries to time the market for their own benefit most. I lost tens of thousands of rupees with this company’s slow transfer process.
No amount of calling/emails resolved my issues. I’m glad though that my constant pestering did get them to finally transfer money on Sept 12. NEVER AGAIN will I use Remit2India service. Though XOOM costs a bit more, their instant 4 hour transfer guarantee provides lot more peace of mind (and could save you $$ in the event of a fluctuating market).
