I’m an NRI for 16 years and have been sending almost all this time. Remit2India are a dodgy bunch of money laundering business with a legal cover. You don’t loose your money BUT they corn you by "SITTING ON YOUR MONEY UNTIL THE EXCHANGE RATE IS FAVOURABLE TO THEM". I lost over Rs.48, 000 because these guys did not transfer for three full days. I used a swift service for same day transfer... they got the money and sat on it for two days and also one more day [public holiday in India] and then took 15 more hours before they did transfer.
If you try calling them regarding your money, they don’t respond. I had a Account Mgr but he was like a Parrot, "reading the same words again and again from a piece of paper". I am sure its given to all these half baked AM and tele marketers.
I followed up everyday but they never called me. Then I lodged a request on their site as a "Potential New customer" with my wife’s phone number, they called me immediately... and not so surprisingly, it was the same person (MY Account mgr). I gave it to him very nicely... Pure scammers.
I spent 30 minutes explaining the whole story, but they acted as if they don’t understand my point. It was for my mother operation and they -screwed-me over big time.Don’t trust Remit2India. I just tried SBI services. They are good. really good. Best rate from Australia. Site is not really good but who cares..the service is good. You get exactly what you are told before pushing the button.
Remit2India must go down soon. Please everyone, if you had bad experience from them, write here so other people can read and save their money.
