School days are the ones us teenagers dread the most, forever making up excuses to stay in bed for a little while longer. But if my school was full of teachers who let you dance in class, handsome guys loaded with cash and a stylish uniform (and sometimes none at all) then I’d never want to come home!
This is what the new program ’’Remix’’ is all about, now showing 8-9 pm on the hip new channel which goes by the name of Star One.
Concept
It is an excellent program, a fusion of modern high (and occasionally low)society teenagers and the problems that all adolescents face. Somewhere or the other there is some one or something that we can all relate to in this show, and that’s what makes it different form the usual family dramas. Each of the four main characters has completely different personalities and it is really interesting to see the ways in which they react to all the different problems and situations thrown at them.
Characters
Tia Ahuja aka bimbo, plastic doll, angel, babe
One of the 4 protagonists, Tia is an extremely pretty but spoilt 17-year old. She doesn’t have a mother, and her father (a rich business tycoon) fufills her every wish. She is seen in a new mini dress every day, and never wears an outfit more than once (uniform included). Her best friends are Pri and Meher, who are more than often called “angels” by her. She refers to herself in the third-person, and uses the the extended word “puh-leez” a lot. She and Ranveer were made for each other, but they are constantly fighting :)
Ranveer Sisodia aka camel, dehati, gavar (all by Tia)
A scholarship student who comes all the way from Rajastan. His main aim is to take revenge on Sumeet Ahuja (Tia’s dad) for whom he blames his father’s death. He is hot-tempered, hot-looking and tough. But he is loyal and trustworthy. Somewhere along the way he and Tia fall in love, making a very sweet couple.
Anvesha Banerjee Ray aka Aashi ;), frowning glory, crazy
She is very hatke. You can tell that right away, from her flaming red hair! She is a little crazy, and doesn’t feel afraid to speak the truth and tell people what she thinks. But she is good at heart. She is a natural leader and can’t stand injustice. Her dialogues are ver original, and I’m very fond of them :) She and Yuvi don’t get along at the start (does anyone?) but they also eventually fall in love! Her young mother, Sonia Ray, is an actress. Because the age gap in not so large between them, it is often Anvesha who looks after her mother and not the other way round. They even call each other Mamma :)
Yuvraj Dev aka Yuvi…not sure what else!
Last of the four characters who form the band Remix. Spoilt brat son of a famous politician. Music is his life, and this leads to several arguments with his father. His close friends are Sid and Nakul. Really falls in love with Ashi, even though the whole situation started off as a bet.
A few others…
MP- Aashi’s close friend. She’s an orphan with a mystery guardian. She’s sporty and tom-boyish, but always sticks up for her friends.
Vrinda- also called Vrindeshwari because she is so kind and good.
Aman- Ranveer’s friend, loves Vrinda.
Nakul- calls himself “Na-kool”. Need I say more?
Sid – cute-looking, but a bit spineless
Meher- pretty, has been out with nearly every guy
Pri- a little on the plump side, but sweet
Latika – sly snitch and gossip queen. Well, she is the principal’s daughter.
Arjun - evil senior. Dates Tia and has everything against Ranveer.
Aditya – random photographer who likes Aashi and hated Yuvi.
Title song (by Aasma) is really cool...sure to get all you kool ppl out there tapping along :)! They also now have a range of other songs, which are equally kool, with perfect generation next beats and lyrics!
Overall a job well done...watch it if you want a masaledaar serial which is sometimes confusing, but never boring! Taste of nostalgia for those who are past their school days, great tips for those who are still there! This program has set a whole load of new trends, right from character style, clothes, attitude and speech!
