How will I drive my Duster in the rains? It leaks

I booked a Renault Duster 85PS RxL(O) Black with Renault Kochi on 12th July. After a long wait and many excuses by the dealer who was trying to sell me a 110PS I finally got my car on 1st November. Of course, I had to compromise with the colour. I took a graphite grey instead of a black.


At the time of delivery itself the floor carpet was wet and the explanation given was that it was water that went in while washing. I thought it would dry out and came back with my car. 15 days after delivery I noticed a very strange stench, like rotten vegetables, every time I opened the door. A full search showed me that the floor carpet was soaking wet, in an inch of water. The problem worsened every time I washed the car.

I took the car to Renault Coimbatore where after preliminary inspection they said it was the A/C condensation leak! They simply refused to agree that the leak was from the windshield area, though they drained some water from somewhere under the body!


I had booked the car for service and rectification of the complaint for 18th December. My mails to Renault India on 5th December still remains unanswered! I got the car back from Renault Coimbatore on 23rd December after allegedly being repaired for my water leak complaint. The passenger compartment seemed dry.


I washed the car on 30th December and was shocked to see water pouring into the front passenger area like a water fall!

Since Renault India was not responding to any mails to their customer care center or even on their Facebook page I sent a mail to Renault’s International mail ID. I got a prompt reply and they forwarded my complaint to the concerned people at Renault India. As usual they asked for my contact info, (this is despite my having mailed them earlier on the same complaint!).


I am very disappointed with the After Sales Service and would suggest thinking 10 times before buying any Renault Product
