Took the test drive of White Duster 110PS Diesel RxZ yesterday and I was really surprised with the drive after reading so many negative reviews. Kindly note that my review is based in caparison with another DIESEL car/suv of same budget (Scorpio, Safari, XUV 500 and verna). View of Petrol car user may differ.
Driving seat is comfortable give the feel of car. Steering is light and smooth. Pick-up is good in fact I was surprised with the pick-up. The maximum speed I drove was 90km/hr.
At 90 km/hr, duster was quite steady. Gear shift is smooth. There was hardly any engine noise considering the fact it was Diesel machine.
Initially, I had a problem adjusting to turning indicator because indicator is on the left hand side and wiper switch is on right side of the steering but after few minutes I get use to it. The best part is volume control, instead on being of steering they are next to wiper switch just below the steering wheel. Lot has been said about the leg space for the real seat passenger. I am 5ft 11 inch and I find rear seat quite comfortable. In fact the width of the rear seat is more as compared to seat in another SUV and that make it more comfortable. People taller than me might have issue of leg space at rear seat.
The only disappointing feature I find was trip meter. Generally there are two meter which can be reset to zero to measure the total distance travelled, Meter A and B but here I find only one meter which can be reset to zero.
Since weather was pleasant could not check the efficiency of AC. But I seriously doubt only one duct at rear is sufficient. Boot space is excellent
