Renault: A company that lacks Professionalism, Cus

The cost of maintenance is exorbitant. In fact the company does not have a transparent and customer centric code of conduct in place for its dealership. Hence the dealer like Renault Calicut are fleecing customers by jacking up the maintenance cost by including unwanted checks and replacements as mandatory service advice. Further, a car that had run only 2300 kms during the two year warranty period was subjected to wheel alignment and wheel balancing twice. Second and third so called free maintenance service costed somewhere between Rs.7000/- to Rs.8000/- on each occasion. Service Adviser of Renault Calicut never asked about the driving experience but advised whether new mats are required for this then newly bought car. The complaint of exorbitant maintenance charges as well as denial of free maintenance was then escalated to Renault Customer Care. Renault company was never empathetic but rather rude and obstinate and completely endorsed the action of their dealer’Renault Calicut’ as just for good performance of the car. Their so called Customer support do not have the basic etiquettes to at least allow the customer who initiated the conversation to complete his/her points’ of grievances. Well I do not blame the dealer but it is this’Renault’s self serving and customer inimical policies which allows leverage to their dealers to fleece, harass and extort from customers of their hard earned money.


The complaints of harassment of Renault customers especially in Kerala by Renault dealers which is TVS is sporadic and their usual way of conducting customer service. Even escalation to their Regional Head Mr Udaya Das finds no discerning action and is in vain. Mr Udaya Das is adept in the art of dissatisfying customers and aggravating their grievances. Whenever you ask anything about the conduct of TVS mechanics and Manager, his answer is, it is Renault’s recommendation. When I asked why a car that has run only 2300 kms in the last two years was subjected to wheel balancing and wheel alignment twice he fumbles and his answer is, ’I will get back to you’. He never reverted telephonically as promised. But replied through email that all service advices rendered as per periodic maintainance schedule of Renault and as recommended for good running and performance of the vehicle.


Renault Company seems to have given a free hand to them to fleece and extort from customers their hard earned money.


Are the spare parts like diesel filters and many such spares as advised by their service advisor during the three so called free maintenance service(But never Free) used in manufacture of this car have such a short life of only 3 - 6 months that they need to be replaced so frequently?


Well we customers are to blame for having gone for this WHITE ELEPHANT called Renault Scala RXE Diesel or THE SHYLOCK’S OF THE 21 CENTURY - RENAULT.
