This is my first review, so please maaf for the mistakes. I moved to Mumbai recently, and was looking for flats. Through Yahoo! answers I found Rentimental.com
The site "claims" to provide the World on Rent. Basically, they connect people who have stuff to give out on Rent with People who want to Rent things.
They have.
Flats, commercial properties tv, fridges, computers, cupboards, beds, cars, even people (As in for temporary jobs) and... my favourite - ROOM-MATES! To make this simple, I’ll divide my Experience into categories.
1. First Impressions: 4/10
My first impression after seeing the layout of the site was one of skepticism. Compared to Magicbricks and stuff, this looked very plain. But after spending time on the site I found that the simple interface actually made it more useful. I don’t like the colours though.
2. Did it deliver what it Promises? - 8/10
Rentimental promises No-Broker Renting in Mumbai. And it delivers exactly that. I contacted some of the people I found, and there were actually Direct Owners. Which meant I didn’t have to go through a Broker. Some of them were kind enough to email me pictures of their houses. I have still not confirmed any, but so far it looks good.The site is Free to use.
3. Choice of Flats - 7/10
Rentimental has a pretty acceptable number of houses on rent. I’m guessing since no brokers are involved, they don’t have as many as other Websites. Maybe they should advertise more to get more owners.
4. Navigation - 4/10
The site’s navigation needs some work. For some of us who are used to simple sites, it can be slightly difficult to find what we’re looking for. They reallly really need to improve this. I got really annoyed at time. I like sites to look and navigate good.
5. Features - 8/10
They use Google Maps to point out locations of flats. This was good for me, since I dont’ know Mumbai, I could see where it was located.
6. Service - 10/10
Now this is where Rentimental finally shines. I was not impressed until I really had to contact them. I was put in touch with someone high up in the company, so I guess it is a small company. The guys PERSONALLY helped my find Room-Mates for the flat I liked. It was very nice for the people at Rentimental to take a personal interest and helping me. Good one.
Overall - 7.5/10
Rentimental delivers what it promises - Broker Free Renting of Houses and Other Stuff that I Needed. However, it’s clearly a small company, that needs to grow. They need to do more marketing so people hear about them, and also make their website look fancier.
