I had ordered 6 books on RetailMart, all of which were mentioned to be in stock. One of the books was delivered to me promptly. At the end of second week, when I didnt get the delivery of the remaining 5 books, I called on their helpline to know what the status of the order was. I was simply told that the money was refunded to my account since they were unable to procure the books! Other older orders were fulfilled first and hence now there was no stock to honour this order!
2 things: If their site mentions that the books are in stock, they should manage how they are going to honour their commitment.
Secondly, proactively informing the customer about the refund is the least they can do.
We never experience these kind of inefficiencies while dealing with sites like Flipkart or Crossword.
I would say the site is unreliable and best avoided.
