Temporary Illusions by Revlon

Recently, Revlon came up with a new marketing strategy called skinlights - in layman language they were eyeshadows meant to go on your eyelid, powder that glitters, and lotion that has sunprotection or so they claim and glitters, too.

I became a sucker for the smooth talking counter females at shoppers stop, and ask them to show me how to use the products. On applying them on themselves (most often the makeup counter girls freely use the sample products, and customers are charged exorbidantly to equal the profit and loss margin for the manufactures - this is the fact). and on me I saw remarkable results in the mirror. I bought 3 of the skinlights for the eyelids, and one powder box which glitters. I reached home by bus in about half an hours time, and when I looked at my self in the mirror, not a single shread of the makeup was remaining on my face.

They swore that it would last at least 4 hours, boy do the shopper’s stop makeup counter females lie through their teeth or what. They actually magnified the attributes of this product to a high level. In reality it is a big hoax.

A few days later on my visit to Globus, they asked me to do a makeover, and since two girls were already sitting on their makeup chairs and being made up by the two assitants, I had to wait for my turn. Both the makeup ladies where so rude and giving the customers a bunch of lies to take home regarding the products. They called it a makeover, it was a joke. After applying the makeup they insisted on a photo taken of me, and inspite of saying no, they still took the photo. It is to me a cleaver marketing strategy. Actually, I doubt these products are really genuine Revlon products. They seem to be made in some godforsaken place called Guwahati where I think the people there do not know an ounce of makeup and its procedures.

I am shocked to see how staff at Shopper’s stop Andheri and Bandra as well as Globus actually encourage their sales personnel to lie to the customers and falsily praise them just to make a sale. The girls at these counters know nothing about makeup, and they are actually just college girls who look presentable with makeup and are fair skinned, and perpetual liars. Sad case.
