I have been a fan of Chetan Bhagat sinceFive Point Someone. He has actually brought in a silent revolution in India. No Indian author wrote stories on the youth - their failures, aspirations and their confusion.Five Point Someone was brilliant, and yes2-States, was somewhat mediocre.
But Chetan Bhagat comes back with a bang withRevolution 2020. The story revolves around three central characters - Gopal who narrates the story, a mediocre student hailing from a poor background who makes it big in life with somewhat dubious means, Raghav, his friend and a meritorious student with impeccable integrity who chooses to be a scribe and tries to make a change in the society. Both of them love the same girl Aarti, the daughter of the District Magistrate.
The story is set in Varanasi, but it is the story of any small town - mushrooming Engineering Colleges to lure students only with the objective of making money. Politicians are involved and Chetan Bhagat in this story beautifully portrays the journey of these young men and a woman from childhood to adulthood . It is wonderful story and not to be missed. Perhaps Chetan Bhagats best till date.
