I go to the Brigades in Bangalore and gosh...it feels like I have entered the Matrix. I really don’t appreciate questions like, ”Which sequel of Matrix”! My friend was taking me for this movie…which movie? Not a good one. And I am really sure that the movie didn’t make much of an impact while I am reviewing this theatre. I am trying to say that I am not biased.
So, I was kind of searching for a huge gate on the street. And I was still searching for it and my friend pulls me and said, “ hey you missed it”. He pulls me back and I entered a narrow gate and I was puzzled. As I entered, seemed like a crappy place. But, no sooner did I enter into that teeny weenie gate, than I saw a hip crowd and a poster of one of the movies running in the theatre. The place was ok for it was clean and a loads of birds to watch. I go to the ticket counter and end up buying a ticket for 100 bucks which I definitely thought was pretty expensive for a theatre like that.
Get into the theatre and man, the seats are so damn huddled up. It is so cramped, god save me! On top of, the seat had foam which was not even and it was heights of discomfort. The AC was turned on but was not good enough and the fans were not turned on. It was a hell hole- seriously. And on top of it, the movie wasn’t good. Anyways, that is not a criterion but made my situation worse.
Ok, it’s the interval and had to pay a fortune for the snacks…20-25 bucks for some stupid popcorn. This is height of harassment. This is nothing but typical monopoly.
The parking space is not enough. You cant even park on Brigades for you are gonna be fined beyond 2 hours.
I hope the theatre scene is getting better in Bangalore. I hope PVR and the theatres in Garuda, which is in the offing, bust REX’s ass.
One good thing: My sis works in an MNC and may be a pact between her company and the theatre...she can call up before an hour and book the tickets and collect it giving enough details that you are the person who has booked it. Thas cool. No hassles of a waiting line and no extra charges too!
And I would recommend you this theatre because there are not many theatres in bangalore, so this is kinda Hobsons choice
