Hello, this is my second review on mouthshut.com. My first one was a bit umm.....something....anyway...back to the topic.
Rhythm-music by A.R.RAHMAN. He has composed 5 songs and each song explains an element of life. Fire, water, wind, clouds & land. The songs are written by the great Vairamuthu. He has written some really meaningful https://lyrics...that he always does.
I am just randomly numbering the songs. And not based on my ranking.
- Anbey idhu nejam dhaana- This song is sung by Sadhana Sargam. We can find out that this song is based on clouds but this line -gala gala-vena pozhiyum pozhiyum, megam ...something...can?t understand Sadhana. Again ARR made a mistake calling Sadhana. Even if she can sing quite well, her pronunciation is horrible. Poor Vairamuthu. Great usage of violin and tabla in this song. Many other instruments are used...I really dont know what they are..:(. I really love it when Sadhana goes to high pitch in this song.
2-Katre en vasal- Obviously this song explains wind. This song is sung by Unni Krishnan and Kavita Krishnamurthy. The song starts of with sounds of wind and Kavita humming. Then Unni Krishnan starts singing. It?s a very soothing song with again instruments I don?t know. I think flute, some kind of drums or something. Both sing the song perfectly. But I dont really like Kavitas voice. I find it a bit heavy...its jus my opinion.
3- Nathiye Nathiye- This song describes water. Sung by Unni Menon. Great picturization, in front of falls, Arjun dancing..:) Back to the song. Just like Katre en vasal, this song also starts of with water sounds. There are sounds of water droplets throughout the song. I just love the lyrics by Vairamuthu in this song. Theem thana na theem tha nana is said a lot of times. There is a chorus behind Unni Menon. In the 4th minute, violin is used and it?s great. Highly melodious.
4- Hayyo Pathikichu- Pathikichu-indicates FIRE. Sung by Udit Narayanan and Vasundhara Das. They both sing it quite well, except Udit Narayanans horrible pronunciation and the lyrics by Vairamuthu. Its not so nice. Otherwise, this song has great beats.
5- Thaniye- I think this song is about land. I absolutely love this song. This is a Hindustani mixed song, sung by Shankar Mahadevan. He sings it with ease but I dont know who gave him the idea of dancing for this song in the movie. Was weird...Love the violin part in the middle of the song..or to say interludes.
Overall, it?s an excellent album with great singers, instruments and AR.RAHMAN! I hope he gives more melodies like these.
Thanks, please comment if you can.
