I live in Brazil and I have been Rio de Janeiro. It is a state as well as Capital of the state of Brazil. It is one of the most important tourist destinations in Brazil.
The City is second most industrialized city after Sao Paulo. It is very famous for beaches. The state is one of the most prosperous states of Brazil as well as one of the smallest states of Brazil by area.
The City Rio de Janeiro had been the capital of Brazil during the Portuguese regime.
This state is also considered as the petroleum-rich state of Brazil.
Due to its Population density, mixed culture, a lot of illegal immigration from other poor countries. Rio de Janeiro is considered as the most dangerous City and state of Brazil. Robbing and stealing is very common. Interior of the state is also well known over the world for the Favelas. In Brazil, favelas mean, the poor slums.
This city is nowadays preparing to host the world Olympics 2016. inhabitants of the city are not so happy to host this, because of the current worst economic crisis in Brazil.
The well-known tourists’ destination in the city and state are:
Ipanema beach, Corcovado mountains, Maracanã Football Stadium,
Candelária Church, botanical Gardens, Botafogo beach, Fort Copacabana, National historical museum, imperial museum and much more. It is highly recommended to visit this state in august 2015 to get a good chance to enjoy an international event of world Olympics.
