Avoid it!

It was just last year October that I purchased a Zen from Maruti’s True Value dealer RNS (Would like to comment on True Value as well but few words would not suffice, that surely call’s for a review. Would be writing that soon!!). Very soon the time came for my first service.

I called their Hosur road outlet and promptly I was given next day appointment. There person came down to my office to collect the car, though I was quite new to car domain still I could figure out couple of problems. Major one from which was AC which was not working from first day, When I informed about that, the person who delivered the car at my place claimed that he came all the way from Yeshwantpur to J.P Nagar (almost 25km) with AC switched on he found it be working normally and convinced me that AC was working fine just that cooling effect is low and that would be taken care during first service. That was Ok! so I agreed to it. I handed over my vehicle to the person with written complaint and a vain effort of explaining him the problems, as he was not able to understand anything apart from the regional language that I was new to.

After some time one of the technician called me up and told agreed that AC was not working!!! (And there sales person had claimed that he drew 25km with AC switched on!!) And the reason behind that was that it was linked with my Auto Cop security system so whenever the system is working(which would be active in any car) AC would not work and to make it work either he has to disconnect the AC association with AutoCop or I should manually switch the system off after sitting the car(I’m not aware how far the reasoning is true!). I suggested him to disconnect the association. Car was supposed to be delivered that day evening but got postponed till next day evening (Of course delays can happen, so what if you have any other commitments).

Next day car was delivered I was unable to figure out if the servicing was done or not. All the glasses were with watermarks, upon opening the door bunch of mosquitoes flew out!! Foot mats were much cleaner yesterday when I gave the car for servicing, only AC problem from whole list was solved (must have policy of dealing with one problem at a time). I called their customer service department and gave my piece of mind, they accepted it and sent across apology letter with a offer for a free wash, which I never took.

Now again it was time for my second service, I sent my vehicle to them, Washing was fine, they corrected couple not all of problems which had been pending from first service, but now the siren for my AutoCop had stopped working. I called them and they sent across there person he was bit reluctant to accept it as there problem but I made sure that he accepted it, well he took the siren to workshop for correction and getting it back soon, The ’soon’ did not come till next day evening, at last I called the technician and told I would be coming down he agreed. After reaching there I asked for the technician, but he had left to some other place and the receptionist asked me to wait, that was annoying, after some time I asked receptionist for customer service manager but she directed me to work’s Manager, After explaining the problem he tried to find my car’s siren in there workshop and finally the search ended successfully, I was accompanied by one technician and one more person maybe a marketing fellow not aware exactly. The technician was frantically searching the place to fit the siren!! I was surprised that he had no idea about how it fits. I had seen it earlier so I told him the place. After some time the technician came to me and handed the keys saying everything is working fine, I pressed the car finder button and gone! That did not work. I told to the marketing fellow and the works manager who were standing besides me, and with there typical style the marketing fellow started explaining me that this function is not available in my cars security system, I asked him to stop making some baseless claims and find proper solution for the problem. After arguing for couple of minutes we went near the car and again the marketing fellow pressed the finder button and it worked this time!! I was watching his face, he just denied his own words that he spoke couple of minutes back and said he never mentioned anything like that. That was too much annoying I blasted him and went off swearing that I would never again send my vehicle to RNS.
