This movie is a refreshing change from the stereotyped bollwood movies of boy meets girl... stuff.
This has got a certain class to it. I was fascinated by the promos itself and also by Antara Mali(Gosh! she is gorgeous!!) so I was waiting for it to be released for a month or so.
Then, it finally got released and man, I wasnt disappointed at all. The movie was simply GREAT.
I must comment on the acting capabilities of Vivek Oberoi. He is simply great! He was really great in his debut movie Company(which was also good!). Now, he acts as if he was a Pro. and Antara Mali has also learnt acting a bit since her debut movie Mast. But, her other talents far surpass her acting capabilities!! And, you dont have to ask about Manoj Bajpai at all. He is a natural. His role as a Psycho is believable.
You may get a bit bored during some of the songs like Khullam Khulla etc., but, Makhmali yeh Badan is really very well picturised and hummable...you got to check out Antara Mali in this...she is hot!! Their introduction song Raste Raste is very upbeat and westernised. But, can be tolerated the first or second time. Others are just there to fill up the CD!
Well, the plot is not at all original. Its a mix of Kalifornia(Brad Pitt) and two other hollywood movies. Ram Gopal Verma and Rajat Mukherjee(the director of Road) have tried deliberately to mnake a kindof western flick using Indian actors in India and have been successful to an extent.
And, the ending of the movie which I wont reveal is really BLAND could have given a better ending than that one.
But, overall its a good movie which you can watch over the weekend with your date or anybody else. Its worth a see.
So, till Ram makes another one(incidentally its called Bhooth!) lets hit the ROAD!!
