Road Trip (Bangalore-based Restaurant)

Road Trip is a concept restaurant featuring motorcycles just off the 100’ Ring Road in Indiranagar. It features a menu comprising of Italian and Continental dishes. Ambience: Road Trip is a very down-to-earth place that should appeal to casual diners who dont want to feel self-conscious. I saw teenagers, regular office-goers and a couple of families all feeling comfortable at the place.

The main feature of the restaurant are the bikes. I saw a serious crotch-rocket (a 1200 cc. Yamaha Thunderbird) and a vintage Norton Motorcyle from the WW era. Quite cool indeed. Service: Good. Without being too chatty, the staff makes you feel at home quite quickly. While our drink came in under 5 minutes, the food took about 25 mins. Food: Oh yes, a restaurant has to be all about the food. The menu has a variety of soups, salads, pastas and entrees.

I tried the Aspargus Soup, the Caesar Salad and the Tangy Mexican Chicken. The food was excellent! I was very impressed with the spanking clean dishes and silver. Finally, the Desserts! What is a meal without a great dessert? I tried the Fig & Wine Ice-cream and the Banana Walnut cake. Both were YUMMY! Add a nice glass of red wine and Road Trip is a great bargain for about Rs. 400/head.

For those who want to check it out, Road Trip’s official coordinates are #3524/1, Service Road, 1st Main, HAL II Stage, Indiranagar, Bangalore. Call 5115 5848. Directions: From the junction of Airport Road and 100’ Road, go on 100’ Road into Indiranagar, make the first left and immediately the first right. Road Trip is now on your left. Enjoy!
