Robinson Crusoe is as much of an adventure filled storybook as can be. It is the story of a castaway who lands up on an island inhibited by cannibals. How he manages to live on the island, how he eventually finds a friend - Friday and how he is eventually rescued - is the story of the book.
It starts with Robinson’s desire to travel the seas and be successful, but a storm and shipwreck leave him alone on an island with a few animals and a handful of possessions. The story reminds you of the Tom Hanks movie, which may have been inspired by this. Towards the end the protagonist decides that he will stay at home in England.
