You get to see a new superhero who is not Spiderman, Batman or Ironman. He is Chitty, the Robot, who acquires artificial intelligence and keeps the audiences glued to their seats. However don’t go expecting the typical Rajinikanth mass masala, as this film is something different but nevertheless entertaining. It is the classiest Rajinikanth movie which is technically state-of-art, with a designer look.
The magnum opus of Shankar was touted to be a Rs 100 crore project when it was launched in 2008. Then it was said to be Rs 120 crore. When Sun Pictures took over, the film was said to be a Rs 150 crore production. Now the buzz is that ‘Endhiran’ has touched around Rs 200 crores! Asia’s most expensive flim.
The Rajinikanth-starrer will also be released in China where the super star has a huge fan following like he does in Japan. So to cater to all the markets, ‘Endhiran’ will be out in more than 2000 prints.
The entire film is held together by Rajinikanth, who simply rocks as the scientist and the Robot. He is brilliant and the one-man entertainment troupe who makes his super heroics credible. The chemistry between the scientist and the robot crackles with energy, especially in the first half. Rajini steals the show as Chitty the Robo, goofy in the beginning and exuding menace with his expressive body and eye language in the second half.
The stunning Aishwarya Rai is good and has equal footing and brings an uninhibited joie to her role as Sana. Danny Denzongappa has hardly anything to do while the comedy of Santhanam and Karnas falls flat as it more slapstick in nature. Technically the film is awesome, and the money spent by Sun Pictures on special effects and graphics shows on the screen and stands up to Hollywood cinema standards.
Among the most breathtaking scenes, it is the formation scenes in the climax of thousands of Robots like Snake, dragon, ball, and Eiffel tower, Robot giant among many are spectacular. The stunt scene on the suburban train is awesome. Sabu Cyril’s production design are top-notch, especially the scientist labs and factory scenes.
Enthiran- The Robot, will make you completely surrender to power of visual extravaganza and the technical finesse. His sci-fi dream project is groundbreaking, bigger but not better. Go for it for Rajinikanth, he is in rocking form.
Robot will be a Box office history in India and abroad for Indian movies. Indian high expensive movie Endhiran has created box office records in India. Now, Endhiran movie is creating records in USA too. Endhiran is giving high competition to the Bollywood.
In the first week collections, Endhiran has pushed Anjaana Anjaani to second place. Hindi version Robot is facing high competition with Anjaana Anjaani.Over all, by the end of first weekend, Endhiran has collected $1, 520, 108 in 64 locations and Anjaana Anjaani collected$517, 608 in 91 locations. In Bollywood, Robot collected$481, 680 in just 36 locations.
In the opening weekend, all the three versions of Robot have together collected 950 million rupees(21 million dollars), the highest-ever in India, " said Komal Nahta, a Bollywood trade analyst. he sci-fi fantasy adventure, made in three languages, opened in India last Friday, with sales twice that of the previous record opener - Bollywood star Salman Khan’s recent hit "Dabaang" - Nahta said
