One of the many things I liked about "Rock On!" is that it makes conscious effort to show how distinct each of its characters are.
.Also, the movie didnt show more than what the audience didnt need to know. There are several implications throughout the movie, and for a viewer like me, it was a treat.
Rock On shows that cliches are fun, if executed properly."Rock On!" is clean cut like Farhan Akhtars 10-years-later hairstyle.Unpretentious, straightforward and clean. There are many instances in "Rock On!" which could have been made overtly dramatic, but no.The director chooses a simple storytelling..and that works."Rock On!" keeps hitting the right notes.
Acting department deserves a praise.Especially Prachi Desai whose emotions kept showing itself in her body language and her expressive eyes.Farhan Akhtar makes a confident debut, and he does well.Joe is Arjun Rampals best performance ever as an actor.Luke and Purab Kohli do their parts well. All the actors put their emotions well onto their screen, and it reaches to the audience.
The audience cant help cheering onThe music of the movie is pure classical rock...I dont need to shower any more praises. But the track "Tum Ho toh" deserves a special mention.
As for the general ambience of the movie, it was straightforward and feel-good.Its the kind of movie that makes you want to live your dream.Watch it with your friends.
Rock On!!
