For those who couldn’t cry when Jack Dawson drowned in the movie Titanic who happens to be straight and heterosexual (like me). this movie will make u misty eyed for the girl who is the love interest of Jordan , the Rockstar. the long awaited movie came with a bang and the cinema halls went almost housefull yesterday . with a director like Imtiaz Ali and a mesmerizing music from A.R.Rehman which also happens to be the best music of the year, you couldn’t ask for more except this movie is beyond the minds of the average population who can not tolerate this movie specially after the interwell. Yes sir I said it right, this movie is such a beautiful piece of work that it wont be recognized except of course the awards of every kind in India and abroad , remember dil se !?
The story starts with a many funny scenes and dialgue that its does it so with a pure perfection of artry and words, audiences laughed like they haven’t laughed for a long time...they burst into tears many times . such is the plot of this movie where they just excelled . Janardhan Jakhad aka Jordan(Ranbir) is a man with a great love for music bordering onto being labelled as lunatic. He is not refined but very good at heart so much so I could feel myself in his shoes many a times . But he is unbale to make a lasting impression on the people . his mentor "khtara bhai" gives the prescription for music , "pain" and this way he looks around for "dil todne ki machine" , the very beautiful Nargis Fakhri. The movie then has you glued and there was a pin drop silence every where , even the non-brainers were paying attention.
What is to be told is this innocent soul falls for the real love for her and thus starts a real pain in him that he then let it out in music and https://lyrics. The pain and ordeal is something I felt in Titanic when I was a teenager. I felt restless and helpless like him...i was hypnotized !!! . The cinematography is so beautiful and gripping that every scene looks like a work on canvas...see it to believe me! . The editing is just what the doctor ordered for, simply fantastic. The direction is exceptionally superb. I think the director is the Albert Einstein of the indian cinema...he is extra ordinary but the main strong point is the music. William Shakespeare once said"if music is the essence of love, play on" and yes Rehman gives music his career best. the lyrics speaks a thousand words of feelings and emotions in every song. that makes this movie an "MUSICAL TRAGIC LOVE STORY". Reel turns real for both of them.
Ranbir is a superstar now and nargis a star, as jordan, he excelled as an actor and will be known as one of the best we have in India right now but this is not the case with the very pretty Nargis. She is charming, looks sophisticated and beautiful but needs acting lessons, may be more than she had already. the way she delivered her dialogues in an very american way, it looks like though she played her part in hindi, somebody dubbed it in hindi for her and that is the first weak point of the movie. the second is the very fast weak end. it had me a bit confused, looks like the director needed half an hour more to make it to perfection (remember titanic). We still have to remember its a commercial movie so I guess that’s why the director suddenly packed it up with a quick end for the next show.
Summing up , its the best movie of the year and one of the favorites of yours truly . Whether the scene where he confesses his love to her or the way they kissed each other very passionately to the ordeal he went through is just visuals par excellence, the movie touches every zenith of emotion a person could possibly have. I laughed a lot and mourned at the same time and still was full of praise for this movie and would be for a life time. In other words its desi Titanic which shouldn’t be missed by any lover in you or you will regret. Even with two to three flaws , its still a excellent second time watch.

may be now you know cause its the first time I ever wrote a review on the second day after watching the movie, its going to leave a lasting impression on your big bad boy. so I guess it will do better with you.
