Many of you, who watched the Wimbledon Finals match last evening , between Roger Federer & Rafel Nadal would agree with me that Champions are made of steel. The grueling five setter that was played for over 3 hours and 40 minutes witnessed a see-saw battle which could have gone either way till the last minute.
After losing the first set, Nadal came back very well, playing some excellent ground strokes and made the Champion sweat. He made Federer commit several unforced errors that kept creeping up as the game progressed. It was a great treat to watch Nadal play a few passing shots every time Federer came to the net. But Federer came up with some towering aces when it mattered and fired 24 of them all to leave Nadal baffled out in the middle.
But Nadals ground strokes was a revelation as he silenced the critics who rated him as a clay court specialist and he proved that he is a force to reckon with even in grass surface.
One could see fire in Nadals belly and his desperation to win his maiden Wimbledon title but the 4 times Champion Federer had his own agenda which he went about finishing the game in a clinical way.
With some fine serving and exquisite ground strokes Federer proved yet again why he is so highly rated. It was nice of him to have told Nadal at the end that He was lucky to have won the Championship.
Well done Roger and Thank you for the entertainment !!
