We reached this place after a 1400 Km drive from Hyderabad - Bangalore - Hassan - Chikmaglur - Udipi - Karwar - Margao. A friend’s help got us a good rate for Rs. 3000/night (third person charges waived) for 23, 24th of Dec 2006.
Although this was peak season, the foreign tourist traffic was supposedly down this year.
The streets are packed with tourists all in a hurry doing god knows what. This must be a paradise for all foreign tourists who hire bikes/scooters and not have to follow any traffic rules.
Located at a walkable distance to the beach and all the action.
Great access to all the action. TITOs chain of discotheques and restaurants is just a walk away so are the numerous shacks on the beach. Although TITos pub with an entry fee of 500+ was highly overrated.
Rooms are good and well maintained. Hot water at all times. Rooms cleaned of all the beach muck twice a day and fresh towels and sheets on demand.
Free continental breakfast is just a few slices of bread. No fresh fruits or juices. sucked.
You have to park on the street which gets crowded and some times you have to park a long way and walk.
The Ronil Beach resort (well it has a bigger pool than this one and thats it) right next to this is a bit more expensive. This has space for a few parking slots.
