The movie ‘Rowdy Rathore’ starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha has been produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali under Bhansali Productions and directed by Prabhudheva. This is the director’s another action flick after ‘Wanted’ starring Salman Khan.
The story is about a small village, Devgarh in Bihar. The villagers are tortured mentally and physically by the ruthless landlord, Baapji played by Nassar. Vikram Rathore is a daring, honest cop who tries to end the landlord’s tyranny but is badly injured. He has a daughter who is Rathore’s sweetheart. He is saved by some people and is recovering with his daughter by his side, when he is caught by the landlord’s people. The cop’s colleagues hide the daughter in a car and Vikram is brought to Mumbai for treatment.
Shiva is a thief who lives with his friend in Mumbai. They act as cons and rob people of their gold and cash. This is how they make a living. One day Shiva comes across a huge wooden box expecting gold in it. The box does not have any gold but Vikram’s daughter. He does not like children but the girl calls him ‘Dad’. He and his friend cannot find the turn of events, until he meets Vikram in a fight with the landlord’s thugs. Shiva is amazed to see Vikram who is his replica, a double role. Vikram is injured and hospitalized. Shiva accompanies Vikram where his colleagues tell him about Vikram’s past and how did his daughter reach him. Unfortunately, Vikram dies. Shiva decides to bring justice to Devgarh.
Shiva and Sonakshi go to Devgarh and start ending the landlord’s tyranny, with intense courage and will. The villagers are elated to be free. Shiva adopts Vikram’s daughter and they live happily together.
The film has all contents of commercial action comedy. Action scenes are holding. Dance numbers are twisting. Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha is becoming a ‘hit’ Jodi, as the hero is daring and heroine is ‘bindaas’. It is surely ‘a once-watch film’ for action movie lovers.
