Royal Challengers Bengaluru is the team I hate the most in the IPL, even though I hail from Bengaluru. The reasons for the hate is as follows:
Hardly any Karnataka players play for RCB. The only player from Karnataka currently playing for the RCB is Sreenath Aravind and he too was only brought in as a replacement for an injured player. For the past few years, RCB is deliberately ignoring local Karnataka talent in the IPL auctions and from 2014 onwards, they have stopped buying them itself. Vijay Mallya, the owner, gives some lame excuses saying that they didnt have money to bid for Karnataka players as they were "overpriced". This is rubbish. There were so many talented cricketers from Karnataka who were bought by other IPL franchises at really low prices. By deliberately ignoring these talented Karnataka players, who have shined at the domestic level and contributed immensely to Karnatakas dominance in domestic cricket in recent times, and picking useless has-beens like Yuvraj Singh, Badrinath or Dinesh Karthik for huge amounts of money, the franchise has lost my respect. The anti-Karnataka Mallya should remove the B from RCB and it to RCM(Royal Challengers of Mallya). He does not deserve to call his franchise as Royal Challengers Bengaluru due to his lack of respect for local cricketers.
Mallya prefers to buy very flashy players for huge amounts of cash, most of whom end up as a waste of money, not contributing at all. There are several examples: Kevin Pietersen, Saurabh Tiwary, Yuvraj etc. He could have spent this money wisely in building a team of young talents who would probably end up as the leading players he loves so much, as in the case of Rajasthan Royals. RCB dont have and dont intend to establish a mechanism to harness and bring the best out of the untapped talent. They only wants has-been and established cricketers, defeating the very purpose of the IPL: to discover new Indian talent who would be recognisable by millions of Indian cricket fans and allow them to gain the experience of playing with and against the best in the business.
RCB has players who are the most selfish and money-minded: Gayle, Virat and even ABD. They may be brilliant players individually, capable of destroying oppositions single-handedly, but they are not team-men and fail miserably when the team really needs their efforts, as in their disastrous campaign of 2014. Gayle and Virat in particular, play only for the moolah and publicity. That dirty mercenary Gayle had the audacity to skip a Test series against England just to earn more bucks playing for a rubbish franchise whose owner is currently down in the dumps. Not only these three players, most of the current RCB players are selfish and arrogant and play with their own agendas in mind, not for the team, and dont care for the spirit of cricket and sportsmanship. This selfishness and lack of sportsmanship is why theyve never won the IPL or CLT20, despite having such a strong team full of world-class players. I also personally hate Gayle and Virat for their arrogance, selfishness, money-minded and narcissist character and attitude problem.
I personally hate Vijay Mallya. He cavorts with women half his age, enjoys in his private yacht, yet he never paid salaries to the distressed employees of the erstwhile Kingfisher Airlines. He has never contributed anything useful for the citizens of Bengaluru and Karnataka. He is a spendthrift who doesnt care for the value of money and always makes foolish, illogical decisions, which have eventually led to his downfall. His family, especially his son, are even more useless, perverted and foolish than him.
