All - Finally I am writing this review after 10 months. I had been thinking to post a review ever since I brought this. I purchased a standard [which is discontinued now - quite strange] in July 2009.
First and foremost....the old Brand value for this Standard vehicle is now dead ! I had been earlier riding a Machismo for 7 years and I totally felt that the old experience is hardly experienced with the new one.
I would strongly not recommend this bike for city riders as this is not user friendly. The gear shifts are a pain unlike any other 4 stroke bike. I think this is because of poor service. The pre-delivery-check [PDC] conducted for any bike is worst. There are so many faults reported in the 2nd day of the bike delivery.
But for people who wanted to take this for a long ride, drive this for pride, can lift their collars as this is the best bike in India.
Finally, the saddest part of this bike is [the truth is] their pathetic service. I am afraid that this bike might loose peoples interest because of lack of service station and poor, poor, poor service facilities.
Their staffs are not properly trained on these bikes which is very important. this is not any ordinary bike.
They are not interested to take these bikes for servicing as they might think its a pain.
I have taken my bike to the service station nearly 11 times in the last 11 months and these people have still not rectified the problem reported. I totally lost hope and given my bike to a private mechanic.
Finding a bullet mechanic is now becoming a treasure. if you have one good mechanic, you have the advantage of owning this one. Finally I will not recommend this bike for their poor service response.
I stronly feel that someone have to pitch in from the Highest level to rectify post delivery problems since their staffs are only looking at target numbers for sales and not the quality.
The old Standard is now dead !
