A Little Tweak to Your Beloved Enfield

As soon as you hear the name’Royal Enfield’ the images come to mind are a 60s Bullet bike with a biker riding it in rugged terrains. Sure is the case with the Enfield Himalayan, however, it also promises to be a versatile motorcycle - a bike that can be used for daily commute and for adventure purposes as well.

The Himalayan look different from the previous Enfield versions. The overall design is quite simple, but it definitely has the appeal and musculature. A large 21-inch front wheel, dual purpose tires, high-ground clearance and an engine sump guard gives you that risky appearance.

The single, round headlight is adorned with a small windscreen. A beak-like feature protrudes out of the headlight, giving it a raw look. The headlight, though, devoid of LED trim is effective; although the taillight is LED. The 14-litre fuel tank can cover around 400-450 kms, depending on the terrain.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan’s engine is a 411cc single-cylinder and is air-cooled. It makes 24.5bhp at 6500rpm and peak torque of 32Nm at between 4000-4500 revs. You only have an electric start to this bike, as there is no kick-starter in it.

The riding position is quite neutral too. You can easily reach the ground without any discomfort. It weighs around 182 kgs and can easily be maneuvered in the city traffic as well. The Himalayan also comes with plenty of space, so you can stack-up some extra luggage if needed.

Overall, the bike is a nice upgrade to the previous Enfield versions. Be it your daily commute or your adventure tours, this bike is surely going to win your hearts.
