Bike Makes A Lot of Noise

I have been riding the Royal Enfield Scram 411 for the last one year and one of the most persistent problems that I have experienced is the tapped sound. Not only is it irritating but it also makes one worry about the reliability and engine performance of the bike.

The engine sound is very loud at higher gears and is dangerous to ride on highways. I have had my bike serviced twice and the noise remits for some days before the loop resumes. Further, the service itself has come under fire from several customers. Several complained of an unprofessional attitude of the service centers, inadequate maintenance, and no follow-up. The clattering noise appears to be from the Single Overhead Cam configuration of the engine, which is not as smooth as the modern multi-valve engines. In a motorcycle that costs over ?2 lakhs, I would have hoped for more refinement.
