Wish I did not have to write this as I am a die hard fan of RE line up. However after owning and experiencing your machine for more than a year I am forced to say that these bikes suck. Sorry for being harsh but they really do suck. More than the bike your dealers support does. They sound helpless, clueless and not to say knowledge less as well.
Below stated are some of the problems that I have been facing from the 3rd or 4th month of owning this bike.
Handle cone-set is faulty. Handle keeps making all sorts of noises and dealer is not replacing that even after repeated request. They just do some quick fix and return the vehicle. After 2 days I am back to the square one. I must have complained about this at least 5 times to Voyage Motors Kandivali, Mumbai(My Dealer) but to no avail.
Drive chain keeps getting loose. This is also a repeated issue. I cannot continue to get the chain tightened every 2 days since thats the frequency of problem. This has also been reported to the dealer several times but no solution as yet.
Faulty Meter assembly - This is the most pathetic situation to be in when you dont know how many KMs you have clocked on your bike in order to get it serviced or how much of fuel is in the tank so that you can get it filled before it dies. Unfortunately my bike has been having a bad meter from 6th month of ownership and the same has been reported to Voyage. Meter keeps dancing with a sequential 3-4-5 numbers flashing(guess thats the dance to the thump that the bike produces) and fuel guage is absolute nonsense. Service guys promise to replace the assembly but also say that the meter is not in stock. If this is true then "God save RE". I find it ridiculous to even think of a spare part being out of stock from last 8-9 months.
Packing used at the point where exhaust pipe is joined to the engine is of the lowest possible quality. I have replaced it twice already and 3rd replacement is in line. Thump turns into an ear jarring noise leakage from both ends of exhaust and trust me thats embarrassing.
While I understand that it is great to produce such an iconic brand but please do some justice to the fact that you guys charge an equal premium for the brand. Please try to give the owners some good experience and not just a 100 year old junk in terms of technology and workmanship.
