I’m Siva from Chennai, it has been 5 months since I’ve started driving my dream horse(I kw it is silly to name it differently just for the sake of it infact never wanted to give it a pet name, but felt like riding a HORSE the moment I got a new one and rode, hence I always feel it as a Horse) 3rd service is due shortly as I’ve done 5750 kms. I have no idea as to from where shd I start writing about this beautiful, majestic, elegant, powerful & joyful machine which we call TBTS.
Initially I did have some doubts abt the issues that some of our friends had mentioned in mouth shut, but friends believe me this machine is an absolute DREAM, worth the wait to own and ride. I had a few small issues like oil leakage and mild vibration(still mild oil discharge is there, but nothing alarming) After the first service my horse looks just Out of the world. On the 25th day after getting my horse, the showroom manager asked if I wud join them on a road trip to a place called KOLLIMALAI(KOLLI HILLS) near Salem, which is abt 450kms from chennai.Without even blinking my eyes for a sec I said count me in. We left on a Friday morning and reached the hill by 8pm, riding thru NH, off roads & Forests. From the base of the mountain to the top it has abt 70 hairpin bends(steepest curves I’ve ever seen & driven), it is one of the most memorable & Unforgettable One Hour of my life( appx time to reach the top of the mountain from base). One should ride to the top of that hill to know what I’m trying to say.WOW God-what a ride & what a horse.Nothing is perfect in this world, not even a car worth a crore or more & even the CEO of such a company cannot promise in word or writing that nothing will ever go wrong.
I can write on & on & on about my horse as I love everything about it. I rarely use my car and unless it’s a family outing I hardly touch it. I have put a Autographix Eagle sticker on the petrol tank which looks great(photo attached). Of course I had changed the silencer & have a Roots horn in 5 days as the company fitted one sucks.I was advised very strongly nor to fiddle with the handle bars, I wud hv loved to change it to a bigger, broader one.
It’s worth every penny u pay and it will make u feel special. Guys driving a Benz, Audi, Volkswagen turn around and look at my horse when the other occupants in that car look at my horse & this is a regular thing. Not to mention the hundreds of Bike owners who just can’t stop glaring. A guy on a new Pulsar overtook me and slowed in front of me & showed thumps up sign, when I went closer he said my horse look great & awesome.That’s TBTS for You For what we pay we get the best in terms of Looks, performance, speed, control & mileage - miles ahead of the rest. With the price of 1.2l we cant n shd not expect a Harley.The gr8 Harley with min 7 L price tag it gives around 8-10/L.Not for every / average Indian, however good it may be. It shd be great to ride a harley no doubt, but 7L too much.
Do spend 10 mins in the morning to clean it as there are lots of chrome / steel parts which look great when its neat & clean. Pedilite industries has a product called MOTOMAX(Rs 60) available in almost all bike spare shops, its the Best cleaning stuff iv ever seen.The shine & smoothness lasts almost a week. No major issues at all.Friends those of you who still have some doubt about TBTS, don’t worry just go ahead and get one. This is not a technical review just my experience of owning TBTS.
For those of u in & around chennai, there is an young Bullet(expert) mechanic Raghu, near MMDA(Chennai), who worked in RE Factory & if u guys hv any issues he can fix it better then what the service guys do.He is very good & does a great job & charges very reasonably. He is simply OOTW .
